Automatic SMT Assembly Line

Automatic SMT assembly line, this complete automated SMT assembly line for high output polyester resin based plastic circuit boards, such as consumer-grade PCB, iPAQ PCB, JEDEC miniature plastic PCB, MDF and other small size PCB. These polyester resin based PCB's (printed circuit boards) are used in electronic appliances, medical equipment, telecommunications devices and many other applications. A high quality Printed circuit board (PCB) is an essential component in the manufacturing process of most electronic appliances. In the past, it was necessary to place printed circuit boards manually on PCB surface using hot air method. But due to advance techniques in designing and printing PCB's, the need of printed circuit boards have been totally eliminated.

Automatic SMT assembly line offers high quality output at a low production cost. This method of production has brought down the cost of production considerably and also the product life span has increased. It has become easier to service the customers, also due to the advancements in the technology and the equipment used now, any faults can easily be detected and rectified without compromising on the quality of the final product. These parts are extremely durable and long lasting; therefore it is important that these parts are properly assembled by an expert technician so that no fault occurs during the process of production. In the case of any such failure, the whole production process will have to be stopped immediately and a replacement part will have to be bought from the market.

Automatic SMT assembly line consists of a series of machines, sensors, motors and control systems that work together to carry out the entire process of manufacturing the PCB. Some of the machines include a CNC machine, a heat oven, a cold chamber, plasma cutters and a number of other machines. The process parameters are programmed into the machines and they execute the same accordingly, following every step by every temperature zone.

CNC machines control the work and the feed rate of the material through the use of software and commands from the CAD/CAM software. As per the software specifications, the machine should move smoothly and without any delay. As this is not possible, the work pace of the worker has to be adjusted according to the specifications of the CAD file. For example, if the material is being fed at a slow rate, then the worker will have to make adjustments in the CNC machine settings so as to compensate for the small flow of material.

The most popular machine in Automatic SMT assembly line is the pick-and-place machine. This is called as a miniature sander. It is controlled by a computer software program and its function is to evenly wet the various layers of the PCB. This method is capable of achieving an even application across the board as it does not experience delays due to wear or moisture. If a small circuit is to be completed, then the pick-and-place machine can be used.

Apart from being used in the production industry, the pick-and-place machine is also used in the industrial field for in-circuit testing. In-circuit testing is a process where a piece of circuit is loaded and then it is subjected to extreme heat; afterwards, a device is used to monitor the changes that have occurred. With the pick-and-place machine, any errors during the load process can be detected before any catastrophic failure occurs. This is because the entire process is done on the software and therefore, the results are accurate. To ensure the overall efficiency of the Automatic SMT assembly line, a series of functional validation tests are conducted on the finished products.
